The Giraffe CCTV platform has a built-in recording feature that allows you to seamlessly play back footage from your tower from anywhere in the world. The cloud / on-premise hybrid approach means that footage is stored on a hard drive on the tower but is seamlessly played back through our cloud-based platform.
To view your footage load your camera and click on the Recording button either at the top of the page or on the camera you wish to view.
Once the recordings have loaded you can select the time you wish to play footage from by clicking on the timeline or clicking on the date which will bring up a date selector.
Rewind 1 min - Rewind 15 sec - Play - Fast forward 15 sec - Fast forward 1 min - Playback speed
You also have the ability to watch the footage in HD. Bear in mind that this will take longer to load so it is worth searching for your footage in SD and only switching to HS when you need to look at footage in greater detail.
Snapshots
The snapshots are a great tool to review footage quickly. The snapshots are taken every minute and go back in time from your current location on the timeline.
Here you can see there is a car in photos 1-4 but in the 5th photo, there is no car.
If you click on the last image with a car in it and then change the resolution to every one minute it will give you a 1-minute window when that car arrived. See here.
This time you click on the first image without a car. This will take you to the minute that the car arrived. You can then click play to find the event itself. To speed things along slightly more you can jump 15 seconds by using the fast forward arrow or watch at 5x speed.
